Nestled in the picturesque mountain village of Omodos at an altitude of 810 meters, Linos Winery represents over two centuries of winemaking tradition dating back to 1825. The Herodotou family has passionately crafted exceptional wines for generations, passing down their expertise and love for winemaking from grandfather to grandson. Operating officially under the name Linos since 1986, this family-run enterprise combines ancestral heritage with modern winemaking techniques. The winery’s privately owned vineyards benefit from the ideal climatic conditions and limestone soil of Mount Afamis, producing approximately 200,000 bottles annually. In recognition of its commitment to quality, Linos was honored in 1999 by the Ministries of Agriculture & Natural Resources and Trade, Industry & Tourism as the best winery with the highest quality wines.

Linos Winery offers an impressive selection of wines crafted from both local and international grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Xynisteri, and Rosé Cabernet. The winery gained international recognition in 2020 when it became the first in Cyprus to produce Mediterranean Blu, a unique blue wine made from white Xynisteri grapes and natural anthocyanins extracted from red grape skins. This innovative creation won the Gold Award for Best Product Design and Silver Award for Best Alcoholic New Brand/Product at the Cyprus Estia Awards 2022. Beyond wine, visitors can also experience traditional Cypriot spirits including Zivania and pistachio liqueur.

Visitors to Linos Winery are invited to embark on an unforgettable wine tasting journey within the historic winery, where they can learn about production methods, sample the complete wine collection, and discover secrets about proper wine storage, serving temperatures, and food pairings. The winery’s stunning location in the Troodos Mountains offers breathtaking panoramic views, making it an ideal destination for wine enthusiasts and travelers seeking an authentic Cypriot experience. The on-site shop offers wines, local spirits, and regional delicacies such as honey and other local products.
