Vardalis (Kilani) Winery was established in 1998 in the picturesque village of Kilani, located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Limassol in the Troodos Mountains foothills. The winery is situated in one of Cyprus’s most traditional wine-producing regions, where vineyards have flourished for generations. The impressive stone-clad winery and visitor center represent a significant investment of nearly 2 million euros, featuring a modern cellar completed in 2002 and a scenic terrace with far-reaching mountain views added in 2006. The facility includes a tasting room and function space, making it an ideal destination for both wine enthusiasts and tourists seeking an authentic Cypriot wine experience.
The winery is renowned for its expertise with indigenous and international grape varieties, particularly specializing in Maratheftiko and Cabernet Sauvignon, while also demonstrating skill with Shiraz and the white Xynisteri. Vardalis produces approximately 100,000 bottles annually, with the capacity to reach 200,000 bottles, and sources about 50% of its wine from its own vineyards. The winery’s portfolio includes twelve different wine varieties, ranging from dry reds and whites to sweet Muscats, all crafted using fully hi-tech equipped production facilities that ensure quality at every level.
Vardalis wines have earned recognition at international wine competitions and have developed a loyal following, particularly in Cypriot restaurants in the UK and throughout Europe. Visitors can enjoy the winery’s outdoor terrace while sampling excellent Cyprus wines and traditional snacks, all while taking in the magnificent mountain scenery. The winery welcomes both Cypriot residents and international tourists interested in wine, winemaking, and wine tasting, offering a memorable experience that combines quality wine production with warm hospitality.
