Opened in 2010 in a striking contemporary building, the museum takes visitors on a 5,000 year journey through the history of “the wine of kings.” Explore four galleries showcasing ancient wine vessels, traditional equipment, and the story of this unique dessert wine. The museum also features wine tasting facilities, a café-restaurant, and the still-operational Zoopiyi Commandaria Winery founded in 1940.

The story of success though lingers on with the fabrication of bottled wine. Later on with his sons, Christaki and Doro establish the family winery in Pachna Village well equipped with modern vinification under controlled hygienic conditions. The accumulated experience and knowledge passed on from generation to generation, in combination with the love for fine wine, allowed the manufacture of the modern wine series of Yiaskouris Winery.

Commandaria holds a protected designation of origin (PDO) within EU, U.S and Canada. Other wines produced by the winery are: Menargos Cabernet Franc, Peratis Dry Red, Elli Dry White, Varvatos Dry Red and Alexandrinos Sweet Desert Sun Dried.

KEO Winery in Pera Pedi is located in Limassol region. The winery is situated in one of the most impressive buildings in the village. It was originally built by the British and the calcareous rock from the nearby hill was used as it’s construction material. The winery receives 3 million kilos of various dark grapes from it’s greater surrounding area.

LOEL Viomichanoi Ltd was established in Limassol in 1943 and holds the distinction of being the first public company in Cyprus, with thousands of shareholders who were predominantly viticulturists. As one of the “Big Four” wine producers that shaped Cyprus’s modern wine industry, LOEL began by producing spirits and fortified wines from indigenous varieties, and later expanded to create quality table wines including Palomino, Negro, and Muscat. Zambartas Wineries was founded by Akis Zambartas in 2006. After years in the wine business as Chief Winemaker and Managing Director of one of the biggest wine producers in Cyprus, he decided to follow his dream of establishing his own boutique winery.
