It was originally built by the British and the calcareous rock from the nearby hill was used as it’s construction material. The winery receives 3 million kilos of various dark grapes from it’s greater surrounding area.

LOEL winery is located in the town of Limassol. It is one of the biggest wineries in Cyprus making wine from grapes grown in Paphos and Limassol region. Their vineyards include over 20 hectares of vines such as Maratheftiko, Cabernet Sauvignon, Spourtiko and Sauvignon Blanc. LOEL planned to install new modern technology into their wine production by 2005 that produce 7000 bottles per hour.

Makkas Winery is located in the community of Statou – Agios Photios in Paphos region. The winery was founded in 2007 and is run by Mr Andreas Psaras. A modern winery is currently being built in Paphos area and is expected to be complete in 2014. The new winery will open the doors for visitors to experience the wine and winery first-hand.
